“How good and pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity.”- Psalm 133:1
Last week, most of our staff here at CBN Israel met together with congregational leaders and partners alike to share our vision of helping single mothers, holocaust survivors and families in financial crisis around the country. The vision was well received.
At the end of our sharing, the leaders offered to pray for us and bless us in the name of the Lord. What a gift of encouragement we received through the prayers of these faithful ministers.
As wonderful as it was to be heard and supported, it was even more beautiful to see the connections made between those who came. One of our partners had a need that one of the congregational leaders could help with. And likewise, one of the congregational leaders shared a prayer request that we could in turn lift up to the Lord on their behalf. This is the beauty of the body of Messiah; we all have something to give and receive from one another.
“If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. I have told you these things so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I loved you.…” –John 15:10-12
These are the words of our Shephard- to love one another. Why? For His glory and for our complete joy.
Is there someone you need to forgive? For His glory and your freedom, ask the Lord to help you to truly forgive them. Is there someone who you know has a need? Call them and encourage them by praying about this need together. Your heart will be filled also. Is there someone who is rejoicing in your congregation? Rejoice with them! We are the body of Messiah and there is nothing that gives Him more joy than to see us loving one another in truth.
May God bless you as you do His will in loving others.
