Through passion and prayer, the CBN Israel team has dedicated themselves to serving the single mothers from the believing community of Israel. They have spent over 4 years giving through efforts and resources to hundreds of families. The single mothers who we serve by the love of God are blessed by receiving help with their practical needs, as well as those spiritual and emotional.
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world” ~James 1:27
We step back in awe as we look at the overwhelming numbers of those in need here in Israel. Nevertheless, we dedicate our team and resources to help the mothers and children of single-parent families. The impact on the current and future generations is immense, and we pray that with each year that passes the mothers and their children who are hungry will be fed and the desperate will find hope.
Following is an inspiring story of a beloved single mother.
“Maria and her son Alexei immigrated to Israel from Russia 8 years ago. Maria is a widow and has suffered from various sicknesses making it impossible for her to work. Maria has not received the support from the government that she is due. She and Alexei live in a very poor area of Tel Aviv because they can’t afford anything nicer. Alexei is now 20 years old and works to help cover their expenses but it isn’t enough. CBN Israel staff met with Maria and Alexei. We gave them food vouchers and tried to help with small immediate needs. We also took Maria to the National Insurance agency and talked with people in management positions to ensure that Maria will receive her rights by law. This widow and orphan, who have struggled for years, now have hope for a brighter future.” (*names altered)
